211428 - online-banking doesn´t work because it always demand the already installed java2-plugin

I entered my online-bank with my new Mozilla 1.4final and a window poped up that
offered to install the java2 plug-in. After installation (successfull - I
checked the plugin folder), everything´s the same:
The Applet won´t start because the side still demand the java2 plugin. I
installed the plugin several times successfully and it didn´t change anything. I
even uninstalled Mozilla to install it again.
With my last Mozilla Version (1.4 RC1) everything worked properly.
At least Konquerer is able to start the Homebanking Applet.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Mozilla 1.4final
2.Enter homebanking site and install java2 plugin
3.Try to start Homebanking Applet

Actual Results:  
Homebanking Applet didn´t start. Site demands to install java2 plugin (again!).

Is Java working (at all) in your 1.4final installation?  Try downloading and
installing JRE 1.4.2 from Sun (see the release notes for more info).  I'm not
sure which version you are getting automatically, but I'm thinking it's an older
one.

This is invalid -- the plugin that gets "auto-installed" is in fact not the
right one.  Please see the 1.4 release notes for more information.
