a mailnews user say, 
"I just found I lost all of the e-mails I filtered to my local mail boxes in the
last two days, my local disk is full but Mozilla mail filter didn't detect the
problem and continued to "move" all of those e-mails to my local mail boxes.

The mail filter should check whether the write action is successful  before
deleting e-mails from inbox." 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I can also reproduce this bug:
1. select a partition whose alvaiable space is very samll, and set local folder
to a directory in that partition.
2. set a filter can filter a new message to that local folder 
3. send a message to that email account whose local folder is in that partition.
4. you will find that this message is in neither inbox or local folder.
5. BUT, if you disable that filter, you can see the new message!!!

The following address always ends up in the trash

I have made numerous filters using the message to form the filter, but no matter
what I have tried the messages end up in the trash instead of the intended mail box.

There is no disc full problem here - lots of Gigs left.

sorry for the spam.  making bugzilla reflect reality as I'm not working on these bugs.  filter on FOOBARCHEESE to remove these in bulk.
