User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 if link-prefetching-in-background is active all mozilla-windows freeze and will not even redraw themself. Waiting for a few _minutes_ did not give me my browser back. Deactivating link-prefetching solved the problem and the site builds itself in a few seconds. Except the browser-window I had the mail&news-window open and nothing more of Mozilla. Browsing other sites freezes the browser for "only" 1-5 seconds instead of doing prefetching asyncronously in the background like it's title says. (I wonder if screen-layout is somehow done in the same thread as network-related work.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. active link-prefetching 2. open www.adac.de 3. wait for it to happen Actual Results: No mozilla-window redraws itself on screen. No inputs are accepted. Cannot close the browser without doing a killall from the text-console. Expected Results: loaded the links in the free bandwith asyncronously in it's own threads. Redrawn itself and reacted to inputs non-blocking.
there are no link prefetching directives in the page you mentioned. loading it worksforme (no hang). the page has a flash plugin. what version of flash do you have installed?
WFM Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040202 Reporter doesn't say anything, so... Reopen if your opinion is different and you are able to reproduce this with a current build.
