Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 This may seem minor but it would improve my life so much and should be possible. I have my own domain, and when sending email messages I like to use different return addresses depending on the recipient. That way if they give my address to a spammer not only do I know who did it, but I can block mail to that address without affecting everyone else who sends me email. With mutt and other shell programs I can just type the From: header like I type the To: header, but not so with Mozilla. I know it's possible to change the return address in the profile configuration, but then I have to remember to change it back to the default. It would be a lot better if I could just type it in as I'm composing the message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start to compose a mail message 2. Place mouse over my (your) name/address in the From: box 3. Click. Actual Results: Unable to change address in From: field. Expected Results: Ideally Mozilla would allow me to type my From: address of choice, without changing the default that appears the next time I compose a message. I will be like so excited if you add this feature. I will stop using mutt.

Workaround if you have multiple email-addresses : create separate accounts for each address, but use only 1 of them to download mail. When there are multiple accounts, the 'From' becones a popup button, and you can select the email-address that you would like to use. Until bug 87987 is fixed, you can't edit it though. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 87987 ***
