212254 - Mozilla 1.4 installs, starts, paints splash screen, accesses Internet, and dies

I downloaded Mozilla Win32 1.4 installer.  Installed Mozilla.
On startup, I get the splash screen but only half a second.
Then ZoneAlarm asks if I should allow a connection.  I click yes.
Then splash screen disappears and Mozilla task is gone.

I tried turning off ZoneAlarm.  It still dies.  I tried upgrading
my system (Win98).  Mozilla still dies.  I tried uninstalling and
reinstalling.  Mozilla still dies.  I tried a fresh download.
Mozilla still dies.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mozilla 1.4
2. Start Mozilla


Actual Results:  
1. Mozilla paints a spash screen.
2. Mozilla attempts to access the Internet (ZoneAlarm verifies this)
3. Splash screen closes and Mozilla terminates


Expected Results:  
Start.  Display a web page or a blank screen.

Having this same problem, I just upgraded from 1.4b, the splash screen comes up 
but then disappears, the application wont start.

This bug still exists in 1.5.  My machine will run 1.0.1 just fine, and worked
on all the releases I recall trying until 1.4, but fails on 1.4 and 1.5 (still)
with the same behavior as originally reported.  - Don
