it sounds like you might be seeing bug 181440. does ubs work with 7.1? Its internals are the same as those in Mozilla 1.4.
correction: "e-banking worked OK with Netscape 4.x and 7.x" should be "e-banking worked OK with Netscape 4.x and 7.0" since it didn't work with 7.1 I reported this to UBS

I've re-checked; though closely related, Bug 212313 is NOT a duplicate of 181440. 181440 has been solved, it works fine. Yet 212313 fails consistently with International Payments; indeed, it fails similarly with 181440, starting with Step 9. As of now, Mozzila 1.4 *and* Netscape 4.2 do not work with UBS ebanking.

No, bug 181440 still occurs in a 2003-07-08 trunk build. After clicking "Verify" you see another orange slip - not the account list. See the screenshot (first attachment on bug 181440) and read bug 181440 comment 83 Bug 181440 is a Tech Evangelism bug to get http://www.ubs.com to work in later versions of Mozilla and Netscape browsers. It's a site problem and not a bug in Mozilla. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 181440 ***
