reporter - did you install Mozilla 1.4 over a previous version? are you using a proxy of some kind?
I have uninstalled Mozilla and installed new copy. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 No proxy, just Cable Router NAT Firewall. Results remain the same....
BTW: Firebird 0.6 works fine for http://www.arrl.org/ Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030516 Mozilla Firebird/0.6
LB Neal: If you're willing to experiment, could you try entirely deleting the folder you installed Mozilla into, as well as "Program Files/Common Files/mozilla.org" and (optionally, if this still won't work) your profile? I realize that this is a pain to go through, but sometimes old versions (especially before the installer was patched to do a better job) leave old files that corrupt new versions and cause all sorts of bizarre, hard to reproduce problems. Let us know if this helps you out, thanks.
Thanks to an e-mail from Neal, I'm going to mark this WORKSFORME.
