Server Error
This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling
your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the
administrator to look for messages in the server's error log.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
According to bonsai, that page no longer exists. I would imagine there is
actually some configuration error causing the message you're getting rather than
a 404, but since the page isn't supposed to exist anyway I'm not too worried.
Where are you linking to it from? Everything under /phoenix/ got moved to
/firebird/. The link you followed to it needs to be fixed.
The link is on http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/why/, under "Find Stuff
Easier."
OK, the link on the Firebird "why" page has bee updated to point at firebird
instead of phoenix (updating URL) but it still gets a Server Error. And Bonsai
still says the new URL doesn't exist.

Ben?

Why isn't this being fixed? It's a link from the page that we use to bring
users to Firebird--it seems like this would be a turn-off for them.
This is a server problem. There's another .shtml file I know of that doesn't
work. Does the server allow .shtml?
The new servers were physically moved to their new home at the Mozilla
Foundation's colo host today. Everything will probably be moved to the new
server at some point over the next two weeks. The new server is Apache rather
than Netscape Enterprise Server, so some things like this that are broken I
suspect will magickly fix themselves :)

dave: it's been over two weeks. is there a new ETA for when the necessary bits
and pieces will be moved over to the new server? if it isn't soon, perhaps
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/why/ should be updated. it's pretty
cheesy that the page that is supposed to convince you to try out a new browser
has had a broken link for almost two months! :(
The new webserver has a bad hard drive. Compaq will be out to replace it on
Monday. Once that drive is replaced, the move from the old server should happen
shortly thereafter (probably another week yet, it's waiting on mail services and
so forth, too).

Dawn tells me Ben plans to check in a new keywords.shtml anyway that should
hopefully fix the problem no matter which server it's on very shortly.
*** Bug 219393 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/why/ has moved to
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/why/ , but it still links to
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/keywords/keywords.shtml

that URL no longer gives the server error, but now you get an ugly 404 page.
this is a prominent bad link.

dave? do you know what the latest status is?

marc
Nope. Server is now spitting out the correct error, which is the only part of
this I was involved in. Someone with responsibility for the page content on
that part of the site needs to pick up the ball now (Ben?)
who is ben? is he on the cc: list for this bug?
He's the owner of the bug.
ben didn't reply to a personal email sent 9/27 :(

the link on http://mozilla.org/products/firebird/why/ has been updated to
http://mozilla.org/products/firebird/why/keywords.html

this page just says "I have not written this page yet."

this is better than before, but still pretty cheesy. why don't we just remove
the following text until the pages are ready?

A full list of Mozilla Firebird's supported Smart Keywords is available here,
and if they aren't enough for you you can make your own!.

Anybody have an objection to changing the link from the why page to
<http://www.mozilla.org/docs/end-user/keywords.html>, at least temporarily?
Temporarily probably would work fine. If anyone can hook me up with access to
that page's code that's not part of the overall template, I'll try to port that
document from Mozilla to Firefox, as I'm pretty sure the dmoz keyword isn't in
Firefox (I wouldn't know as I've gotten in the habit of erasing all default
bookmarks and importing my own).
Jeff - you don't need any special access to see the code without the template.
If you just click the "edit this page" link at the bottom, it will take you into
"Doctor" and you can see, and edit, the source there. You won't be able to
commit any changes, but if you attach a modified version to this bug, that can
be reviewed (I guess Ben should review it) and then put on to the site.
Well, so much for me ever getting around to doing this.

This bug is likely INVALID now per bug 245083 comment 2.
daniel: do you agree with this being invalid?

in any case, shouldn't this go to Firefox component?
