User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 I'm more certain this really isn't a bug and merely a function of how the program lists messages. As of last Friday, only messages received since the "incident" (whatever it was) show in the inbox listing window. Every other file - trash, drafts, etc., both at the mail server and on my computer, show all messages. I'm left believing there is a character or characters in the last of the earlier messages that cause the program to begin listing messages all over again at whatever point the character or characters happen to be. I can edit the Inbox. file using KEDIT, a columnar-style editor, and can see all the messages. I can also tell you the file is around 80Mb, which is a whole lot of file for approximately FIVE messages which we have kept since Friday. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I guess I can send the file if you want it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.If I knew how to reproduce, I would fix it! 2. 3. Expected Results: Whatever the problem is, it would be nice to have the problem resolved - and for you to know what causes it!
Reporter, it sounds like all the messages in the Inbox have been deleted, or perhaps dragged to another folder. Deleted messages are not automatically purged from the Inbox file, they are marked as 'deleted' by setting a bit (08) in the X-Mozilla-Status header. These messages should have been copied to Trash (or wherever they were dragged to). If you no longer have a copy of the messages, you can edit your Inbox file and change the X-Mozilla-Status header to subtract 8 from the value -- so if it reads 9, change it to 1, etc. If you do still have the messages, in Trash or elsewhere, you can drag them back to the Inbox. To purge deleted messages from a folder file, you want to Compact the folder (from the context menu). File|Compact Folders runs compact on every folder in the account. If this has addressed your problem, please mark this bug Resolved|Invalid.
No response from reporter =>Invalid Mike Richardson, feel free to reopen if you can supply additional detail about why this is still a problem.
