I downloaded the software from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firebird/releases/0.
6/MozillaFirebird-0.6-win32.zip and installed in according to the instructions. 
I.e. copied it to hard drive, created a new profile using option -p and tried to 
start it up. Although I am connected to the internet via a (corporate) LAN the 
browser apparently tries to open-up a dial-up dialog box? Actually I am 
permanently connected to the internet via a proxy server. The proxy settings are 
retrieved via automatic proxy configuration (i.e. using a .pac file) or 
alternatively I could use a fixed proxy server name and port number. However, 
since firebird hangs immedately I am not able to change any settings like eg. 
the proxy server setting.


I am using Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195]


Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:  
firebird hangs, I kill it after eg. 5 minutes without response.


Expected Results:  
Startup, possibly try to load a home page (using the existing network 
connection).

This works for me with the 20030721 build on Windows 2000.

Michael, your build is already rather old (over two month) and a lot has
happened since then regarding firebird development.

I'm resolving this as WORKSFORME. Please reopen this bug, if you still see this
with a current nightly build and a fresh profile without additional themes and
extensions. Thank you.
