Was there a reason for this? IMO, the ODP and Google nicely complement each other for nearly all searches most users need to do. Most web users use a directory search for general topics or sorts of sites, and a search engine for specfic information, and Google and DMoz seem to be most people's prefered SE and directory (including mine).
