Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 OS/2 Version. I appear to have GhostView (gvpm.exe) set up properly as the helper application to load pdf files. When I click on a pdf file, acroread.exe opens in the background with nothing in it (i.e. page 0 of 0). Exactly the same thing happens when I change the helper application to acroread.exe, back to gvpm.exe, and whether or not I specify "use the default application" and/or "always ask me for this kind of file." Changing all these options changes nothing; acroread.exe always opens in the background with nothing in it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on pdf link in browser window. Actual Results: acroread.exe opens in background with nothing in it (page 0 of 0). Expected Results: Open the pdf file in the pdf-reader of my choice, as specified in Preferences.
Do you have the Acrobat plugin installed?
The issue was that the plugin was installed and the plugin trumped the helper.
