This patch moves the arrows closer to each other. I'm not sure if you guys want this bug fixed (since it's unconfirmed and stuff), but I think it's a good idea.
A screenshot of the different views with this patch is coming in a sec.

My two cents on this topic: I don't like the arrow buttons inside the other nav buttons. (Its a matter of personal taste you know)
What about this idea: Remove the arrow buttons from the navigation pane and add two new customizable toolbar buttons for next/previous? Disadvantage: the remaining four navigation buttons might be hard to spot.

I don't like having 2 sets of buttons right next to each other that do the same thing. (ie >> and March both go to March). That just seems like we're wasting screen real-estate.

I don't think we will change it - users don't like changes of look&feel if change does not support any new feature so for me: Wontfixed

We have discussed this in the Calendar QA Team and decided that we do want a resolution or an enhancement to this feature, so we will confirm this bug.

Move arrows closer to each other
Requesting ui-r from mvl to make a decision on this.

I don't see the usability win of this. (there might have been a win once upon a time, but the headers have changed now). If you want to browse, you can use the headers. They do the same as the arrows. For example, in the month view, if you are looking at March, there are labels for February and April pretty close to each other. In the same place as the proposed arrows, to be exact.
So, in my mind, there is no usability win, and it does not look as nice to move the buttons.
Wontfixing this bug.
