Often I want to keep the email message, but without the large attachments, to
save disk space. Therefore I plea for a way to remove attachments from the email
messages.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I'm 100% sure there is already a bug with this enhancement request, but I can't
find it right now ...

... ah, found it! You have to search for 'delete attachment', not 'remove
attachment' ...

It's bug 44595 - I believe this one is a duplicate - but I believe there was
another bug with quite a lot of comments and discussions regarding the
implications (legal implications of changing mail messages, problems of tracking
where the attachment had been saved, Eudora's approach of automatically removing
attachments and storing them in a well-known place, etc.). I can't find this bug
at the moment - anybody else who knows the bug number?
Oh boy - this is not my day ...

Sorry for the spam, and please ignore the bug number in comment #1 - this bug is
on *bugzilla*, and requests the ability to edit/delete bugzilla attachments. I
only read the summary, and didn't pay attention to the component this bug was
filed against.

I still believe there's a bug on on deleting/filing away mail attachments
somewhere ...
triaging.
