User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 I currently have my Junk Mail controls set such that the automatically detected junk mail should be moved to Trash and manually marked junk mail should be moved to Junk. However, manually marked Junk mail is moved to Trash instead. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set Junk Mail controls to move incoming junk messages to Trash 2. Set "When I manually mark messages as Junk:" to "Move them to the 'Junk' folder" 3. Manually mark a message as junk. Actual Results: Marked message was moved to "Trash" instead of "Junk" Expected Results: Moved marked message to "Junk" folder.

Is this still a problem for you with Mozilla 1.5 or a current nightly of 1.6alpha?

Thanks for the reply. Not sure if it's still a problem with 1.5. I haven't thought to check again. But, I will and will update this report once I have had a chance.

Update: I am still seeing the same problem/behavior in release 1.5 [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007]. What is stranger still is that Mozilla Mail no longer seems to empty out the Trash folder when I quit the mail program (I have set my options to empty trash on exit). Mail that I had definitely marked for trash on Monday is still in my Trash folder. Do you know if this (apparently) new problem has been resolved in 1.6a? Or should I submit a new bug report?

comment 3 looks like Bug 195047 when the nightly builds come out again it will be easier to check what's fixed and what not.

Update: Current Mozilla release is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031030 Firstly, I apologize for the delay in updating this issue. Secondly, I would like to say that I am still seeing the problem. My junk mail controls are set up so that mail automatically marked as JUNK are sent to the "trash" folder and that manually marked messages are sent to the "junk" folder. However, instead, I see ALL junk messages being filed in TRASH. Thanks again for looking into this. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I think this is actually to be expected. In the Junk Mail Controls set up, if you select that you want manually-marked mail to be moved to 'the "Junk" folder' (which, notice, you do not specify), Mozilla will use what has been defined as the Junk folder in the selection above -- that is, either the "Junk" folder on a particular account, or the selected "Other" folder. The dialog is a little ambiguous, since the phrase 'the "Junk" folder' is repeated in both sets of selections, but have slightly different meanings. Joseph Kang, if you are satisfied with this explanation, please mark this bug as Resolved|Invalid, since there is no bug at all. If you *really* want a way to specify a different target folder for manually-marked junk, then this bug's summary should be changed to reflect that, and its severity changed to 'Enhancement'. (Or a new enhancement bug can be opened for that purpose.)

OK. Well, the above certainly clarifies what is actually meant. And, I would agree that it was misleading to me. I'll definitely think about whether or not an enhancement request is worth it or not. Thanks again, to everyone, for their support. Also, thanks for such a robust product!
