I have a POP mail account with the following characteristics:
Server Name: mail.gantrup.dk
User Name: abc@gantrup.dk
I am unable to access this account, and it seems as if the mail client gets
confused by the '@'-character.
Since I can't change the User Name, this is a show stopper to my usage of the
Mozilla Mail Account. Outlook Express accesses the account without problems.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to access my account - even if you don't have the password, I think it
will show you how the problem appears.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
No error message, but messages waiting on the account are not transferred.
Expected Results:
Download the messages

No, the "@" is no problem.

Matti: I explicitly mentioned the dups of bug 98664. Bug 140696 is one and
mentions '/', 'å', '&', '+', while bug 142301 is also a dup and is about
brackets. So there are several special characters involved which is not clear
from the summary. But I guess you are right.

This may sound too trivial, but the user name is actually just "abc". Are you
able to log in when omitting "@gantrup.dk"?

If I omit "@gantrup.dk", the mail client asks me for the password for
"abc@mail.gantrup.dk", and after it has been entered, an "Authorization failed"
message is returned.
That is different from the case when I use the complete user name. In that case
it asks for the password for "abc@gantrup.dk@mail.gantrup.dk" and returns no
message at all (and no mail).

The mail client works perfectly even with the '@'-character. It was a
configuration error on my part.
I am very sorry to have wasted your time.
