When the http server inquires the size of the viewport, to make it's content fit
nicely, mozilla returns a size INCLUDING that used by the sidebar. So the page
NEVER FITS the display if the sidebar is visible. It may also be that the page
instructs mozilla to resize it's window. Obviously mozilla must make separate
provision for the sidebar display space. At present it does not.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Ensure a reasonable width sidebar is displayed
2.Load the given URL (or any other similar one)
3.Observe
Actual Results:
The page loads and resizes the mozilla window. The "made to measure" page is
then displayed in the tab or new window but it does not fit due to the sidebar
eating up a portion of the window. Observe a horizontal scrollbar (unintended by
the page author)
Close sidebar - problem exactly fixed
Expected Results:
Subtracted the area used to display the sidebar from the area reported to the
server. Alternatively added the area required for the sidebar to the requested
window size.

When the sidebar is active, stylesheet-only sites seem to use a different page
offset to tabled sites. Here is an example [http://mike.essl.com/].
Broken as of Mozilla 1.2.1 (Gecko/20021130) and Firebird 0.6 (Gecko/20030516).

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
