User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030801 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030801 When the http server inquires the size of the viewport, to make it's content fit nicely, mozilla returns a size INCLUDING that used by the sidebar. So the page NEVER FITS the display if the sidebar is visible. It may also be that the page instructs mozilla to resize it's window. Obviously mozilla must make separate provision for the sidebar display space. At present it does not. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Ensure a reasonable width sidebar is displayed 2.Load the given URL (or any other similar one) 3.Observe Actual Results: The page loads and resizes the mozilla window. The "made to measure" page is then displayed in the tab or new window but it does not fit due to the sidebar eating up a portion of the window. Observe a horizontal scrollbar (unintended by the page author) Close sidebar - problem exactly fixed Expected Results: Subtracted the area used to display the sidebar from the area reported to the server. Alternatively added the area required for the sidebar to the requested window size.
When the sidebar is active, stylesheet-only sites seem to use a different page offset to tabled sites. Here is an example [http://mike.essl.com/]. Broken as of Mozilla 1.2.1 (Gecko/20021130) and Firebird 0.6 (Gecko/20030516).
