Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open a message folder or newsgroup and set View -> Sort by -> Thread.
2. Type something in the "Subject or Sender contains:" text box above the subject 
   listing window and wait for the search to complete.
3. Press the clear button.
4. Go to another message folder or newsgroup and then return to the original one.

Result:
Your sort order has been changed to sorted by date instead of by thread.
Everytime you search and come back to a folder or group that you search, your
sort order is changed to "by date".

Expected:
Searching should not affect sort order.
