User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.1 (20030723)

After stable and happy useage of Thunderbird with message threading turned on
(All), Thunderbird spontaneously decided to stop displaying all messages in the
Inbox view. Junk Mail folder, Sent folder, etc. were all fine. The messages
still existed in their data files in text format but I could not get them to
display. I tried emailing myself, I could see that message until I clicked on
it in the listing and then it, too, disappeared. Finally I cycled through the
different threading options and when I got back to "All" they 'came back'
although that was the original setting.

I am not sure if this is a bug or just a hangup in storing a setting somewhere
that is somehow singular to my machine. I did try closing down Thunderbird and
reopening before cycling through settings. I have been running Thunderbird for
about a week now and had no problems, before now I ran Mozilla Mail. I thought
at worst, this is a problem of mine and mine alone and I am wasting time and
space by submitting a bug report, but on the other hand this report might help
others with the same problem (if it is reproducible)
I am also receiving this bug with Thunderbird 0.1 running on Windows Server
2003. For me, it is somewhat spontaneous, sometimes they appear sometimes they
dissappear. One time, when I emptied the Junk Mail folder (I have the filters
turned on), all the missing messages reappeared.

I am also getting this bug - on Windows XP with both Thunderbird .3 and .5. My
pop account is hosted by a company that also supplies web access to email - when
checking my inbox on the web account, I see that all my inbox messages are still
there, they aren't deleted off the server, they just stopped being shown in my
inbox.

Also, I have only seen this bug after installing a virus protection program, and
it's log shows me that it has "quarantined" my inbox multiple times (more times
than I have noticed losing my inbox). I've excluded my inbox from the scan now,
will post again if this happens again. But would appreciate knowing how to
recover data.
