User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 When performing a save function ("Save link target as" ; "Save image as") Mozilla will not save to any specific location on the hard disk. No error message, but download manager nor download dialogue shows. This problem also occurs with automated download sites such as "download.com." When "Download Now" is clicked, the download does not proceed (eg. no download progress windows or download manager window). Duplicated steps with Thunderbird and Internet Explorer and files downloaded normally. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Find any graphic or link file that you would like to download onto your computer. 2.Right-click on said graphic or link and select either "save image as..." or "save link target as..." 3.Attempt to locate file at specified download location on hard disk. Actual Results: No file could be found. No download progress window opened. Expected Results: Download progress window should open to show progress of assigned download. File should be found at specified download location on hard drive. Used current build of Mozilla since the builds release and have not had this problem until recently. Attempted an uninstall/reinstall of current Mozilla build. Mozilla downloaded properly for approximately two sessions of use and then resorted back to original problem of not downloading files.
Can you please close Mozilla and delete the file "compreg.dat" in Mozilla.org\Mozilla\components\compreg.dat ?
Closed Mozilla (including Quickstart) Deleted file: C:\Mozilla.org\Mozilla\components\compreg.dat Restarted Mozilla. Problem still remains.
Attempted to delete compreg.dat a second time (turns out Mozilla was still running but not showing the quickstart icon in taskbar --> ended mozilla process). Now browser functions as expected. Will keep posted if previous behavior resumes. Thanks for the help Matti!
