I manage to run both Netscape Navigator 4.7 and Mozilla 1.4 on my PC happily side
by side but does running NN 4.7 on the Mac mean that I can't install Mozilla as a
stand alone browser? I don't know.

reporter - OS9/mac classic builds are no longer supported however there
shouldn't be any bugs with the installer... probably something with your setup
locally... you may want to post a message at mozillazine asking for some aid.
You may also want to try the updated mac classic builds found at: http://wamcom.org/
as to the 2nd question you posted there should be no problems having both
netscape 4 and mozilla installed or actively running. (or mozilla and netscape 6
or 7 for that matter although there may be issues with sharing the same profiles
or having them both *running* at the same time)

I seem to recall that if you had Netscape 4.x open and tried to open Mozilla, it would give you a
false error message, saying that it could not open because Netscape 6.x or Mozilla was already
open. If you launched Mozilla first there would be no problem. I'm not running 9 now so I can't
confirm this.
However, as Mac OS 9 builds are no longer supported, I would agree with the INVALID resolution.
