217037 - windows loads error message open mozilla illegal character message with lots of un-normal symbols

When windows loads when I first turn on my computer, it brings up an error
message straight away saying "mozilla has created an error in <unknown>. Mozilla
will now close.
 then, when I can eventually open Mozilla to access the internet, it brings up
another error message saying "unknown illegal character" then lots of symbols
(letters with hyphens above, new line tabs, etc)

Reproducible: Didn't try

"An error occured whilst reading the startup configuration file. Please contact
your administrator"
"Syntax error: illegal characters" ******* (unknown characters)
