The parameters of the SMTP server are correct, an message with no attachments or with a small file attacher are sent without problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. make any e-mail to any destination 2. attach a file like a photo (file JPG) 3. Send the message Actual Results: Outgoing window opens. Status = Sending mail. Progress bar goes up to 100 %, then long message telling that the SMTP server did reject the connexion. Everything is OK if the file attached to mail is small (up to 50 KB) Expected Results: the message should have been sent successfully.

From your follow up in bug 217198, I would suggest trying to increase any connection timeout setting that your antivirus software may have. Also, make sure you have the latest version of your antivirus software as it may be a bug that was fixed in it.
having the same issue i dont get the error message though i doubt that this is connected eith my Anti virus soft I had no problems with it before upgrading to the newest version
