I saved it. I start Mozilla. The Mozzila's Message filter did not take the changed folder name. I have over 200 folders to change. It can be done by manually. Need to improve on change or reread and store the changes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run message message to change folder name to move. Closed Message Filter. Close Moz. open notepad on msgFilterRules.dat. Copy the name of changed folder and replace all of the rest of filters. 2. Save the same file from notepd. 3. Open Moz. Check Message filters . The move to folder did not change except you changed on Message Filter. 3. Actual Results: Moz did not update the revised folder names. Expected Results: Nothing.
Which Mozilla Version Do you use ?
It is Mozilla Version 1.4. I downloaded 1.4 yesterday. The old corrupted version was 1.4. I removed it because it screwed up my profiles with password with my pop3 servers. I want to start all over with new mozilla. Then I cleaned up 200+ folders (under pop3 userid) with lots of subscriptions as I reorganized that main pop3 folder to local folders (nobody@Local Folders). It worked with selected changed message filters. I do not have time to correct "Move to" folders to Local Folders. I can manually them in notepad. I am surprised that Mozilla did not updated well from the changed msgFilterRules.dat. How come?
I installed Mozilla 1.50 Gecko/2003071814. It did retain same setting of 1.4.0. Good Job. On notepad, I manually changed msgFiltersRule.dat from enable="yes" to enable="no" and save it to same msgFilterRules.dat. Mozilla 1.5.0 did a good job on update enable to disable all filters but did not update actionvalue. For example, actionValue="mailbox://nobody@Local%20Folders/BackUp/Collections%20-%20Fitness%20and%20Diet/Just%20Right%20Coach" The Message Filter Run showed no actionvalue from changed but showed default to my folder of pop3 server/user name. Any suggestion?
When I renamed subfolder under Local Folders to another folder name in Mozilla Mail/newsgroups, Mozilla updated all msgFoldersRules.dat to new subfolder on activefolder statements. When Mozilla is done, I opened msgFoldersRules.dat. All activefolder were updated accurately. It worked! It solved my time problem. I run message filter on inbox. It moved to most of folders. It solved well. One thing Mozilla can not upgrade from updated msgFoldersRules.dat. Any Suggestions!
