User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1 my mail server requires that I use the following format: username%XXXX.com Thunderbird by default places an @ symbol in place of the %. I've tried adjusting the config files to see if I can get just the % to no avail, after changes I get username%@XXXX.com...I need to know how to remove the default @ out of the equation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. setup email account as normal 2. put username in, TB adds the @XXX.com automatically when it asks for my password. 3. Actual Results: my mail server wouldn't authenticate my username because it didn't recognize it. Expected Results: instead of assuming that my account name was username@XXXX.com, it needs to not put anything in place of the @. Some servers don't use the @ by default but use the % instead
> TB adds the @XXX.com automatically when it asks for my password. This additional string "@domain.com" is just displayed after the username in the password dialog, but is NOT used for login. See bug 212937 for this issue. You should enter username%XXXX.com as your username in server settings. When logging in it will ask for the password for username%XXXX.com@mailserver.com which looks wrong but is correct. Enter your password and it should work. If it doesn't a pop3 log would be useful.

I have the same problem. My e-mail provider requires that our username be something@server.tld. It works perfectly well in IMAP mode with the same account (my provider supports both). This happens on tb 1.6 on both Windows and Linux Reproducible: always
