Downloads 'fail' with message unable to read from source gives a path to a temp
file sjjehwl.ext. The download manager cannot be opened and no download is
possible after this occures - the same thing happens on all downloads. A work
around I have found is doing a reinstall. Once reinstall is done download
manager works again, for a while.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Seems to only happen on XP - I have had 3 XP boxes do this - Different levels of
patches and client software (Novell, MS Client, Etc). Might have something to do
with ME closing D/L Manager while a D/L is going on because it does complete in
the back ground why do I need a window open to watch a bar graph.

Please close mozilla and delete the file mozilla/components/compreg.dat and try
it again.
This just happened to my win2k with Mozilla 1.7b and Matti Versen's fix worked.
This issue seems to be related to bug 237301.
