Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Over time (perhaps due to crashes), the Total Message count in the folder tree view for folders becomes incorrect. For example, in one folder, it's empty, but the count is 1. Another folder has 3 items in it, but the count is 5. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Look at total message count in folder tree view 2. count messages in that folder 3. compare numbers Actual Results: Total message number can be different than the actual number of messages in the folder Expected Results: Mozilla should report the correct number of total messages in each folder By creating a new profile this problem goes away, but comes back after "whatever causes this" occurs again.

Yes, using IMAP (sunOne - this didn't happen before moving to SunONE) No, "Compact this folder" does not change the count.
