Using Mozilla 1.4 and I think 1.4.1 it is impossible to bring up the email
composer.  This is true on an IBM T-30 laptop using Mandrake Linux 9.1. 
However, there is no problem on either 1.3 or 1.3.1.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Needs IBM T-30 laptop, using Mandrake Linux 9.1
2. Load Mozilla 1.4 - open email: Try 'Compose', 'New - Message', 'Message - New', 
3. email composer just does not appear.  I can live with this, since others have
no problems with the emailer.

Actual Results:  
No composer appears

Expected Results:  
Expect the email composer that appears by all routes on this same machine using
1.3 and now 1.3.1.  THIS IS NOT A MAJOR Mozilla Problem: check it only if you
have the time.

Sorry no other changes on the machine - tried several times, e.g. first 1.4 then
1.4.1 and on both receiving emails were no problem only trying to compose one.

do you see any errors in the javascript console when you try to open a compose
window?

do you see this problem with a clean profile?
