User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 For reasons unknown, I suddenly became unable to enter text into any text-entry widget. Selection was possible but editing was not. This was confirmed to occur on three separate items: the entry field in the 'Open Web Location' dialog (Ctrl-Shift-L), the entry field on the JavaScript window generated by the Google Toolbar, and the entry field in the dialog box that comes up when selecting 'Modify' from the right-click context window when using about:config. This appeared _not_ to occur with the location bar. For the 'Open Web Location' dialog only, when 'Choose File' was clicked and any file selected, the entry field became writable again. (The other boxes had no buttons of comparable effect.) If this bug were fixed by restarting Mozilla, I would mark it minor; however, closing Mozilla and reopening had no effect, and I had to uninstall and reinstall. I am thus marking this bug critical. (I'm new to bugzilla, so I hope that's actually a good reason to do so.) Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: Unknown.
Aponar Kestrel, do you still see this problem with Mozilla 1.6 and a new profile?
... er. It is about time to upgrade, isn't it? The problem hasn't recurred since, even under Mozilla 1.4. If no one else has seen anything like this, I suggest marking this bug 'RESOLVED WORKSFORME'; I suppose in the unlikely event it happens again, the bug can be reopened, but given that it hasn't recurred in the four months since, I suspect that that will never be necessary.
