User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 the autocompletewindow is always 'on the screen', even when the browser itself has been moved to the side. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open new window 2. make sure auto-complete is on 3. click in the location bar 4. move the window over the left or the right edge of your screen, such that the location bar is partly non-visible 5. type something that you know will autocomplete 6. notice that the now popping-up autocomplete window is not attached to location bar, but rather shifted to the left or the right, such that is completely on the screen.
Thats also true for the trunk, at least build 2003090204 on Win2k.
Could this be related to/the same as bug 211059?
perhaps. note that i am not using firebird.
if i lower the resolution to 1024x768, it still happens, you just have to move the window farther to the left (seems moz likes to remeber the previous resolution). im using 1280x1024 usually.
Alright, I did some more testing and I can now reproduce this too, both in Firebird and SeaMonkey. Now that I see what's happening though, is it really a bug? I think, if anything, it actually enhances Mozilla. By pushing the autocomplete suggestions over when they would normally be off the edge of the screen, it lets you see the entire URL rather than having to guess from only seeing part of it. To me, it seems like Mozilla was deliberately coded to do this.
nah, it's a bug. following that line of reasoning, you could argue mozilla should render webpages outside its window when the window is not completely visible, too.
