This is no bug or crash, rather a suggestion.
I would like the mozilla mail clients to be able to treat attachements and their
respective mail independently (like e.g. Eudora).
My last Netscape mail account was reaching 400 MB when I thought I had a
problem. Problem was that most mails I trashed vanished in the GUI but where
still in the actual files including the infile attachements. Not only that but
some messages were actually saved more than once.
After a switch to Eudora and a bit of cleaning up, I was at 4MB.
I have no idea about the mozilla architecture, so I don't know how diffficult it
would be to incorperate this feature.
I would like to move to Thunderbird as my standard mail application ^__^
But without that feature...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
this needs duped against mozilla /mailnews / attachments
Target Milestone: --- → After Thunderbird 1.
> this needs duped against mozilla /mailnews / attachments

You mean like bug 2920 - a general MailNews bug about detaching attachments? ;)
Summary: complete seperate handling of attachements → complete separate handling of attachments
