The preferences window occludes part of the content on the right hand side and
on the bottom. Rebooting and reinstalling does npopt help or change anything. It
is the same at 800X600, 1024X780, 1152Xn   and 1240Xn. This also happens with
Netscape 6.2 
I am able to use Mozilla 1.4 but the chopped preferences window is painful.
I have not found any other way to present this information. I have been through
the FAQ's and the bug seraches.

This effect (truncated window or dialog box) does not occur anyehre else.
It may not be a bug. Maybe it is a feature to check our frustration tolerance.

Going back to Netscape is not a solution. I has downloaded 1.4 twice. The sam
each time. Sometimes when I go online Mozilla wants to phone home, perhaps
looking for updates. That feature is onlya minor nuisance.

Some one else may have this problem of a truncated prefernces window. Both the
right side pane and the left dise pane have this problem. 





Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to edit
2.Select preferences
3.Most of the right side panes are found truncated.
some of the left side panes also.



Actual Results:  
Well I get slightly annoyed. 
Some of the preferences check boxescannot be changed because they have only
the top edge visible ot the associated test on the right side is not visible.

Expected Results:  
I have no idea. I think there should be a via for contacting help for such
matters. Even if the help is terse and or sarcastic. Like you have not thought
of everything (yet). Provide an idiot channel for people like me. I am promoting
Mozilla because I like it, not because I hate MS ( which I do). You said lots of
words above somewhere.

Reporter, have you tried this on a recent nightly build? I can't recreate this
problem on 2003091004.
