User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030905 Firebird/0.6.1+ I find a handy feature in IE to be the ability to load a local HTML file I'm currently authoring, and then to be able to edit the HTML source directly using View->Source. There is no easy way I've discerned so far to load a page for editing from Firebird. Perhaps the solution would be: a. Add an option to configure the source viewer to use either the internal display or any other external program. b. Additionally, allow the user to add other apps to the Tools menu, which are then passed the filename of the currently open page. On a related note, if you're viewing a local file in IE a right-click on the window icon in the top left gives the usual context menu for the file, allowing you to easily send the current page to A: or open it with any other app from the "Open With" list. Could similar functionality be duplicated in Firebird? Great work with the browser so far - I'm very impressed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.View->Page Source Actual Results: Source for a local file is read-only Expected Results: See Details box above for the suggested behaviour.
I concur. Mostly because I think the internal source viewer should go and that Firebird should launch your specified (or default) text/plain/.txt viewer: Bug 172817
OS: Windows XP → All
Hardware: PC → All
a) is a dupe of bug 172817, which is going into the dev pack if anywhere, morphing bug to second concept. b) would be an extension at best, View Source isn't likely to be in the base build even, so support for adding tools is even farther off the radar. Its an interesting idea, and would make a great extension and possibly an addition to the dev pack try bringing it up on the forums at mozillazine, maybe someone there would be interested.
