if i have a filter/rule: send to trash and set unread, then those
should not be count as new messages.
(send to trash is maybe not even needed, set it directly to unread
should not increase the new/unread message count.)
If i get new messages and send it to the trash folder in a unread
state, the thrash folder does get bold!

So if i only get 2 new messages that are triggerd by that filter. I do get the 
event: 2 new message found.

If i then go to thunderbird, i don't see new messages only the trash folder is 
bold (but no count after it)

It should be mentioned that the notification in the system tray in Windows also
shows new mail when all that has come in has been filtered as unread.

I haven't seen this in a long time. Marking WFM. Reporter, please reopen the bug
if you still see the problem.
