User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 WebWasher 3.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 WebWasher 3.3 While trying out Mozilla Firebird, I noticed that the flash plugin is running very slow. Under Internet Explorer 6, a test flash file I used runs in 43 seconds. Mozilla 1.1, 43" as well. Opera 5, 43-44". Under Firebird, the same flash .swf takes 55" to play! They are all the same flash version 6 plugin. And I noticed that the display of pages is going in slow motion. In Preferences with the Fonts&Colors page, it's very noticeable. It's like it's cascading in slow motion. So I tested other releases: Mozilla 1.1: flash ok, and Pref/App/Fonts displays instantly. Mozilla 1.2.1: flash test failed, Pref/App/Fonts test failed. Mozilla 1.3.1: failed Mozilla 1.4: failed Mozilla 1.5 beta: failed. Apparently something was dropped between 1.1 and the new releases. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. play an swf flash under mozilla 1.1 and time it 2. play an swf flash under mozilla 1.2.1+ and time it 3. see if the Pref/App/Fonts displays instantly Actual Results: All builds above 1.1 are slow to display, and the flash plays slowly Expected Results: Pref/App/Fonts to display instantly web pages to display fast or instantly flash movies to play at the normal speed My machine: Pentium4 2.4ghz, GeForce4, 512mb, WindowsMe, 32bit display. Same config used for all the Mozilla versions I tried.
Can you attach the test-flash or add a URL for the flash ?
