User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Hello all. I checked for 'pane unstable' and 'window jiggles'/found nothing - so delete this if it's a dup... I downloaded 1.5b for win32 to try Mozilla (on win2ksp4... viewing at 1024x768). After setting up a few pop accounts, I imported an outlook (IE6) address book with 12 entries. At the default window sizes, 12 entries exceeded the space available in the upper right pane (directory pane?). This resulted in the top of the lower pane (the card for web presumably - or whatever pane was in the forground) jiggling up and down by one line as if it was trying to resize itself. This behavior continued until I dragged the top of the pane down, resizing the directory(?) pane so that there was enough room to display all 12 entries. After this the 'card for web window size oscillation' stopped and was stable thereafter. I see that the entries in the 'directory' pane scroll up when the window is resized. To provide another clue, I do not recall the entries in this list moving up/down (they were stable). It seemed to be related only to the size of the 'card for web' pane dynamically changing each refresh. This IS reproducable (for me) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. import an outlook ex v6 address book w/12 entries 2. switch to the address book view 3. select the imported address book and the oscillation starts Actual Results: dragged the bar down to resize the panes. Expected Results: should have displayed the addresses in the available room Default install of Mozilla 1.5b on 9/12/03
I don´t know if this is a dupe, but Jiggle have been around in some other components too. This issue seems to be solved on 09/05/2003 13:20 by checkin for Bug 201379 Workaround for oscillating splitter in mailnews Please test a current nightly, or a version BuildID 20030906 or younger, and post the result here.
Repeated procedure with build 20030924 installed on 20030924. Jiggle problem seems to have been fixed at some point. Will suggest closing item.
