User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/2003082704 When composing a new mail, having typed the to: and cc: addresses, if I mouse click on the subject line to place the cursor there before typing a subject title, the cursor does not appear on the subject line - the subject line appears inaccessable. If I move the mouse to the message body text area, click and type all or part of the mail body, then move the mouse up to the subject line and click, the blinking cursor appears as normal and the subject line is accessible as normal. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.see above 2. 3. Actual Results: see above Expected Results: I had expected this to work like previous releases and other windows based software.
Did you use the backspace key while entering the To or CC fields? If so, please look at bug 215169 and bug 217390, either of which you might be seeing here.
No - I usually use either "Reply to" or "new-mail" - then use mouse to locate cursor in To: (if the cursor isn't already there) - using mouse to locate cursor in subsequent cc: or bcc: fields, then mouse to subject line (if new mail, or reply to requires editing of subject line). Thgough having read your post, I can see how using backspace to delete an unrequired t0: field causes this bug to invoke - I guess we're talking the same issue here. Thanks!
This appears to be a dupe of bug 217692 -- and both bugs are reported on the same 1.5b-0827 build. Adrian Redmond, do you still see this problem, using 1.5 Final?
This appears to have been fixed in 1.5 - at least on my version!
