This is standard platform behavior on Windows to do so. On the converse, if you open the drop down list and type a key, the first entry is selected as expected. See Bug 144303 for reference. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a new compose email window 2. tab to the to: field. 3. Type 'c". Case 2: 1. Open preferneces in the browser 2. Click on the Navigator/Internet Search tab 3. Press tab to move focus to the "Search using" drop down list 4. Press 'g' Actual Results: Nothing happened. Expected Results: "Cc:" in case 1 or "Google" entry in case 2 should be selected from drop down list. This is related to a PR in mailnews. In previous versions of netscape mail, it was very easy to quickly change all the "cc" in an email to 'to:" or other such manipulations. Not you have to annoyingly click on every drop down list and change it.
