220140 - can't open mail attachments

Approx 1/2 the attachments I receive in email won't open.  eg When I click on
the  attachment Ghosts.pps the box comes up saying "the file Ghosts.pps.txt is
of type application/octet-stream (Text file) and does not know how to open this"
Some .pps open fine, the above file always gives that error.
Same problem with some pdf files AND when I download new versions of mozilla,
the file tries to launch as ".exe.txt"

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open up Mail, double click on attachment to open it...

Actual Results:  
It brings up a box saying (as above) Mozilla does not know how to handle this
file.  (and ".txt" is added to the end of the filename and extension.

Expected Results:  
Launched the attachment

Can you verify the MIME-type of the files being sent? They probably have a value
that does not match up with what Mozilla is expecting. 

To see what it is expecting, go through the list very carefully at:
Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Helper Applications

I have seen what you are seeing before. The .txt extension is being added on
because it is the default extension for the actual MIME-type of the document
(application/octet-stream). I was seeing this too. It could be an issue with the
server sending the wrong value.

In saying that, Mozilla's handling of this could probably be better. Maybe it
should look at file extensions before MIME types, and be more trusting of them.
