User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 I am unable to delete a downloaded file that stalled and I cancelled the download. There is a file left over that is the partial file. I have to close Mozilla, including the quickstart portion of the program to be able to delete the file. As a note a curiosity, Openoffice has a similar problem. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download a file (may require a file to stall, not sure) 2. Cancel the download (I waited a long time while downloading Knoppix 3.3) 3. Try to delete the partial download. Actual Results: I was unable to delete the partial download Expected Results: Released the file once the download was cancelled.
Works for me. Build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040421 Downloaded 10% of Open office from: ftp://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/pub/openoffice/stable/1.1.1/OOo_1.1.1_Win32Intel_install.zip Canceled the download. The partial file vanished from my desktop.
Summary: I am unable to delete a downloaded file that stalled and I cancelled the download. → I am unable to delete a downloaded file that stalled and I cancelled the download.

I experienced a similar problem with firefox 1.0 under windows XP. While downloading Skype to the desktop, the Norton firewall interrupted the download somehow. The partially completed download cannot be removed. Even after rebooting the PC, and in safe mode, the file cannot be deleted. I am not sure whether this is a finefox or windows problem. --> Confirmed.
