Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1

In multiple instances usually in mail.yahoo.com, sometimes other URL's, attempts
to print or save file as PDF under the print dialog causes the browser to crash.
On first boot of application it is usually possible to print or save a few
times, then it will crash. re-starting the application will at times allow it to
print reliably and at times crash again after a few successful prints.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to print
2. either print (which then gets spinning ball and crash)
2. or print and save as PDF (which then gets spinning ball and crash)

Actual Results:
As noted in Details section, sometimes it will work (print) for the session or
crash after a few attempts.

Expected Results:
printed or saved PDF

Happens on all Mac OSX systems used. (2 powerbook, 2 ibooks, 2 imacs)
Reporter, does this also occur using Mozilla?

wfm saving this page as pdf, saving pages at mail.yahoo.com as pdf (don't have
an actual printer). your build is over two months old, try again with the 0.7
candidate build.
moving to correct printing component for triage/duping

Firebird/0.8.0+

Any attempt to print to PDF (either via "save as PDF" or as printing to Acrobat
6.0 pro virtual printer) leads to a crash.

osx 10.3.2

I am attaching a few crash reports.

Could this be related to bug 207417 on Windows?

Have you tested to disable the APE extension in your system? (Unsanity Haxie). I
acnnot confirm this, even with APE. But i have heard others having problems with
printing when certain APE haxies was installed.

>Have you tested to disable the APE extension in your system?

Yes, and it still crashes.

Searching bugzilla I have some other similar bug:
bug #110159 , bug #171058, bug #228132

perhaps one of them is related?

>Could this be related to bug 207417 on Windows?

I am not sure, as bug #207417 deals with printing FROM a PDF file and this is
about printing TO a PDF file (i.e. creating a PDF file from the webpage)
Unable to reproduce this problem on Mozilla, running OSX 10.3.2, using
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040123.

I don't see a crash, but doing Print->Save as PDF yields only the 1st page of
the document (for instance
<http://www.forward.com/main/article.php?ref=kerry200408251051> ). This is with
FireFox 0.9.3.

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
