The Bangla font in the website http://www.prothom-alo.net/ is not displayed
properly in Mozilla. It shows the English font properly but does not show Bangla
font at all(it only shows Bangla fonts on the homepage because they are in .jpg
format but in any other pages its not displayed properly).

Note: The page is displayed properly in IE 6.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.got to www.prothom-alo.net
2.click on a button on the left column
3.

Actual Results:
A new page opens in the frame supposed to be written in Bangla font but its not
readable in Mozilla. Because it does not display the font properly.

Expected Results:

Displays fine on mozilla 1.5 Win XP
Can you post a screenshot?
I checked it again. It doen not display properly on Mozilla 1.5 rc1 for windows
XP. I attached a screenshot of this display.
Yes, for some reason it doesn't display the page properly. In any case it's not
a utf-8 encoded page. Does it require any special fonts? the encoding is windows
-1252.
Doesn't display properly on IE6+XP either.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

I used Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12)

Gecko/20041020 Firefox/0.10.1. I am using Linux Fedora Core Release 3 (Heildelberg) Kernel 2.6.9-1.667 on a Pentium 4 CPU 2.27 GHz (i686) with 384MB RAM. I am using the following browser with this setup :
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041020 Firefox/0.10.1

I noticed that following webpage is not at all intelligible / garbages with
this browser while they show correctly with IE6.
http://www.prothom-alo.net/v1/newhtmlnews1/category.php?CategoryID=1&Date=2005-11-08

On the same machine with Windows XP (SP2) i used the following browser, I have noticed the same performance.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915
Firefox/1.0.7

However, this webpage show up correctly once those are viewed with IE.
Even installing new fonts stated in the source of didnot result
anything differant with Firefox.I have tried changing Character encoding to
Autodetect but could not really determine which one to select. In IE I dont
have to select anything other than Selecting Encoding -> Auto-Select. I think
this may be introduced in the Firefox browser.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
It reproduces everytime. I have put details of it in the description I think
you can also make it.

Actual Results:
Show garbages.

Expected Results:
Bengali webpages.
Component: Layout: CTL → Layout: Text

Is this still an issue with recent Firefox builds ?
