User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 In Netscape 4.7, I could change my local directory by klicking "browse/durchsuchen" with my mouse. When Mozilla 0.9x and later occured, this feature was killed, it never existed any more, and Mozilla creates a unreproducable Directory name by characters and numbers. Any installation, when system is reinstalled, the directory name is new, even If the name of my account is the same, like "Administrator" or "Thilo". I want it like it has been before, like in Netscape 4.7, and like I can define the installation dir of Mozilla. It's the same in Mozilla Firebird, the same mistake. Or lack of a fine feature. By the time: If I update Mozilla and install it into the same directory like the predecessor, Bookmarks are deleted, and the preferences like privacy, internet search etc. are overwritten. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create an account, open mail window 2.Go to "Mail and Newsgroup account settings". 3.Go to "Server Settings" 4.Go to "Local Directory" Actual Results: I can manually enter another directory Expected Results: There should have been a button "browse" like in Netscape 4.x Same lack of browsing button is in Firebird, too. Same lack on all operating systems.

If I understand you correctly, you would like a Browse button for the Local directory box in the Mail settings. If so, this is a duplicate of bug 151688. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 151688 ***

Yes, I want to be able to click at a "browse" button to change the storage directory for mails and settings. Yes, my SETTINGS, too
Ah, ok. I think the other bug you may be interested in then is bug 125721, it deals with being able to choose where your profile will be located (your profile stores all your settings, browser history, cache, etc.).
Yes, not only defining the mail directory but as well the profile directory with all my settings and configuration, or better TWO BROWSING BUTTONS for each purpose (sometimes it's better that the mail directory is seperate from the profile directory, e. g. if you want different partitions for mailing and profile folders.). Regards, Thilo
