User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030925 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030925 Text copy with the middle mouse button (XFree86 4.1 on Debian stable) to a Mozilla window (from a Mozilla or other window) does not always work. This bug is quite old so they should other reports, but I found none. I don't know how to reproduce it, but it happens quite often with the mail composer. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce:
1) Are you pasting from a remote app? 2) Are you pasting large amounts of text (more than 4kb)?
1) no, local apps, typical desktop usage. 2) no, any number of letters. Here is an example with the mail composer: 1) The mail window is open, with 3 panes, a message displayed in the message pane 2) I hit the "Create a new message" button 3) I highlight three letters in the message pane 4) middle-click in the To: field (it has the default focus), it copies 5) middle-click in the Subject: field, no result I didn't worked when I began this report, and now it works, don't know why.
Summary: copy with middle mouse button not always working → paste with middle mouse button not always working
Is this a problem with current builds? The pasting stuff on Linux got pretty heavily modified in 1.7a...
I installed Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040218 and the problem seems to be gone. You can close the bug for me.
Marc, thanks for testing!
