User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 I'm not sure what can be done with this bug report because it's kinda weak but here goes. I was using mozilla, I've been using it for a year now, and I switch back to the mail window, by clicking on it to bring it into focus, a half second after doing so, windows xp blue screened (which was surprising, I've only seen XP do so maybe 5 or 6 times since I've been running it). The machine shut down and restarted, when it came back up, I opened mozilla and went to the mail & newsgroups part, and it prompted me with the wizard to set up new email accounts. I then went and looked in the account config and all 7 of my email accounts were gone. I went and checked the email data files which seem to be ok. I looked in the password manager and all the passwords and password site preferences are gone. The cookie manager has retained all of it's cookies, the image manager has retained all of its settings. I can give more details if I'm leaving stuff out here. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Change in focus window from mozilla browser to mozilla mail 2. 3. Actual Results: Windows XP Blue screen crash Error code 0000001a, parameter1 00041785, parameter2 c0c00000, parameter3 0000ef21, parameter4 00000000. The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001a (0x00041785, 0xc0c00000, 0x0000ef21, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini100903-01.dmp. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Expected Results: Umm... displayed my email and not deleted all my passwords
Also, the master password which was protecting all my other passwords has been lost as well. This is the one which pops up a query when you open the mail client so that mozilla can use the stored passwords for your pop or imap authentication
I've also found that my enigmail (plugin) settings have been lost (e.g. the location of the gpg executable, etc.)
Also, the preference loss is not confined to the mail and new account information, the actual preferences as well (e.g. forward as inline or attachment) have been lost

you lost your whole prefs.js, I'd guess - I'm not sure what could possibly cause this. There have been a few bugs about this but other than installation issues (installing a new build over an old one while the old one is running, iirc) and some quick launch issues (launching a new instance while the old one is shutting down), we don't know what could cause this.

Mozilla can't cause a BSOD (Blue Screen of Detah) because Mozilla doesn't install drivers running in the CPU Level0/1 and Mozilla itself runs in the Userspace. Only a driver or hardware problem can be the cause for the BSOD (and Mozilla can trigger such an error in this components). The prefs.js loss is bug 132517 You can try to move your Profile-informations into a new profile with http://matti.no-ip.org/profile.txt *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 132517 ***
