Hi,
When I click "get messages" in Mozilla mail&news, if there are no new messages
on the server, i just get a message on the status bar.
I got remarks from several persons (newbies) to whom I installed Mozilla who
were surprised not to have a popup window like "You have no new mail" and have
to click OK. (It seems Outlook does this ...)
This would be nice to provide this as an option.

Confirming this. As resolutions get higheer and higher, people don't catch the
message in the statusbar. Some configurable "[ ] Show MessageBox if no new mails
are available" would be a start.

Just one more comment: (note: I don't use mozilla mail myself ...)
it seems the message disapear after some time, so, if you click "get messages",
do something else, and come back, you see nothing and you may think there have
been a problem, whereas you simply have no new messages.
