User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030915 Firebird/0.6.1+ Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.3 (20031013) I am using Thunderbird build 20031013 on Linux with my company's IMAP server. Works pretty much ok. I am also using gkrellm to monitor my system and also monitor my IMAP account for incomming mail. Gkrellm uses this syntax for viewing unseen / total number of messages: X status inbox (MESSAGES UNSEEN) which is responsed with (for instance): * STATUS "inbox" (MESSAGES 82 UNSEEN 1) 2 OK STATUS Completed. I have defined a filter: when e-mail is from XXX then move it to INBOX.subfolder. However, after accessing the moved e-mail, the previous IMAP command still says there is 1 unseen e-mail. It remains 'unseen' until I compact the INBOX. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up a mail filter, moving e-mail from INBOX to INBOX.subfolder on IMAP. 2. Receive an e-mail that matches the filter, the e-mail is moved to the subfolder correctly. 3. Access the e-mail so it's no longer marked unseen in TB. 3. Run the 'status inbox (MESSAGES UNSEEN)' on your IMAP server. Actual Results: There is still 1 UNSEEN message in INBOX. Expected Results: Somehow mark the e-mail as seen.

(In reply to comment #2) > More like bug 222112. This is a duplicate of 230367, which I've already posted a comment for... I've noticed this bug since Thunderbird 0.1, and it's definitely IMAP-specific.

This bug appears to be registered as Linux-specific - it definitely occurs under Windows XP as well.

Bug 230367 doesn't look as a duplicate for me: it sais that Mozilla shows 0 messages when the new messages are filtered to some folders (also reported in bug 245386). On the other hand, this bug sais the count on the IMAP server is not updated when a certain message is read. Maybe they are equivalent at the code level, I just wanted to make sure.

I'm pretty sure Bogdan Stroe is correct, this is not the same as bug 230367; that's a notification issue, which has been reopened and duped over to bug 228168. Comment 1 suggested bug 94215 as a possible dupe for this bug; that may well be the case.

This may, also, be a dupe of bug 179556.

With Thunderbird version 2.0.0.6 (20071022) I no longer see this problem.
