Is there still room for this type of fidgeting with the new design, or should this bug be marked fixed? If we can still fidget, I think the gradient image looks better than the current one, but all in all I don't think this change is really necessary.

plan is to continue to evolve and improve the website with some of the ideas stated here.. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/website/ and where we can get additional good suggestions and volenteer work.. a gradient image would be a good addition

some design idea: http://www.geocities.com/stolenclover/go.html When consider a new logo design, we should not try to use gradient or fancy styles. The logo should be simple, look good in small size and large size, and use mimimum # of colours. When we start simple, it's always to derive a more complex design (e.g. from plain to 3D). The reverse is rarely true. Some examples are http://www.geocities.com/stolenclover/backstage/moz-temp/birds.png and birds2.png. They started out w/ two colours but can be reduced to a single color http://www.geocities.com/stolenclover/backstage/moz-temp/birds3.gif . And most icons are colour-independent (it retains meaning in nutural colour).

A series of designs (and some that don't belong) based on the concept of a puzzle. I find puzzle to be pretty flexible since you can reduce most things to simple blocks. I originally wanted a 3D M logo, but looks I failed :-( The firebird ring is a dragon tail wrapped around into a circle. I guess you can do similar thing to t-bird. The ring design is based on the ring puzzle found at the bottom of this page: http://www.geocities.com/stolenclover/backstage/mozilla-org/community/
