User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 (This happens on several[/all] sites when I switch to "tab" mode. I'm using Steve's Digicam page just as a concrete example.) Short version: I right clicked on a link, selected open in new tab, and both tabs started to experience veritical jitter. Long version: o Opened www.steves-digicams.com/diginews.html. No problem. o Right clicked on the Kodak 6490 review, and selected "Open in new tab". Tab was created, page was loaded and was jittery - it had veritcal jitter. o Selected the original (diginews.html) page - it was jittery. o Closed the Kodak 6490 review tab - the diginews.html page was still jittery. o Closed the browser o Opened the browser (to my default - blank page). o The blank page was jittery - noticable by the white page extending into the scroll bar, then disappearing, then reapparing, etc. o Loading a page caused the jittering to stop. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Opened www.steves-digicams.com/diginews.html. No problem. 2. Right clicked on the Kodak 6490 review, and selected "Open in new tab". Tab was created, page was loaded and was jittery - it had veritcal jitter. (additional steps taken) 3. Selected the original (diginews.html) page - it was jittery. 4. Closed the Kodak 6490 review tab - the diginews.html page was still jittery. 5. Closed the browser 6. Opened the browser (to my default - blank page). 7. The blank page was jittery - noticable by the white page extending into the scroll bar, then disappearing, then reapparing, etc. 8. Loading a page caused the jittering to stop. Actual Results: Tabs contents were jittery. Expected Results: A smooth display.
Once I close the new tab, the original page still jitters. HOWEVER, if I then go to another website (www.cnn.com), the jittering stops. If I then select the BACK button, the jittering returns. I.e., once a page is flag to jitter - it will keep jittering!
Is your Personal Toolbar empty? Bug 219643 Window shakes if empty Personal toolbar is expanded.
If I understand what the "Personal Toolbar" -is- (the third toolbar, underneath the back/forward/reload toolbar), then yes - it is empty. I checked, and if I go from "unhide" to "hide" to "unhide" (as indicated in bug 219643), I get the same sort of jitter as I am reporting. If I set my browser to "hide" the toolbar, I am -unable- to reproduce my problem. (Sorry, I scanned for "jitter" and not "shake" before I filed the bug report.)

The window for the web page when jittering extends down about 1-2 pixels along with the vertical scroll bar, then pops back up. This happens continuously 2-4 times a second.
