if we dont' have room for docs we could get rid of links to mozillazine and mozdev? move hall of fame up in the hierarchy?
Comment 2•21 years ago

on the sidebar we will have the following with the pages they link to on the right. Documentation -User - http://website-beta.mozilla.org/support/ -Developer - http://website-beta.mozilla.org/docs/ -Web Developer - http://website-beta.mozilla.org/docs/web-developer/

One update to above... We want to update the side bar to also have a "support" link and have it link to http://website-beta.mozilla.org/support/ then we would change the user doc link to http://website-beta.mozilla.org/docs/end-user/

/docs/end-user/, /docs/, and /docs/web-developer/ are not being updated. Use catalog/ catalog/end-user/ and catalog/web-developer

Has this been resolved with the new website?
Comment 7•20 years ago

no. there is still no link to user/developer documentation on standard nav sidebar
Summary: no links to product documentation on home page → no links to product documentation on home page / sidebar

yeah, link to download.html was removed from top nav bar on 2004-08-31 14:31 by dbaron: http://www.mozilla.org/webtools/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&file=template.html&branch=&root=/cvsroot&subdir=mozilla-org/html&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&rev1=1.66&rev2=1.67 David Baron, is it possible to release some of the discussion on the site redesign to the public. In a open community, no "fix" should be magical--the community ought to be able to know what's changed and why. Also, is this removal of download link deliberate or an oversight? (I think you argued against it somewhere). One more thing, now that we are one less link, can we consider adding anther one, say documentation?

In the recent discussions about updating the site's content, we proposed the following top-level nav links and home page contents: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mozilla.org:Planning#Reorganize_Structure Documentation is not included in the top-level nav since it's not a main activity of the site anymore (docs are now hosted on MDC). Closing as wontfix.
